My documents,
a kind of personal folder allowing us to store our personal files like documents,
pictures, music etc.
We can easily locate our files which we use often and also
backup becomes easy if we store all our personal files in this folder. There will
a unique My Documents folder for each user of our computer.
If we have installed the Windows Operating system
in “C” drive, then the default location of the My Documents folder will be at C:\Documents
and Settings\ Name of the user currently logged in.
If we
don’t save our documents in the location we want, then some of the Windows programs
automatically save those documents in My Documents folder.
In Windows Vista, the
name of My Documents folder has been changed to Documents.
