Connecting Printer to Computer

A printer is one of the peripheral devices used for taking the printouts of the computer data we want. A printer can be a monochrome which can print only one color or a color printer.

Speed: The speed of the printer is expressed generally as number of pages it can print per minute.

Cost: Printers cost range from $50 to $30,000.

Types: There are so many types of printers like Laser, LED/LCD, Ink-jets, Solid Ink, Dot-matrix, Multifunction, plotters, Label, Line, Mac, Portable, Card, CD/DVD, 3D printers etc.

We should select the printer based on our needs. We can interface digital cameras, memory stick to some of the modern printers

Connecting Printer to Our Computer

(a)First the ink or the necessary cartridges should be installed in the printer we bought.

(b)Then the printer is connected to the computer with the help of printer cable and its power cord is connected to power outlet.

(c)Finally the printer driver software has to be installed in computer.
