By connecting
our computer to the TV, we can browse our computer on the TV screen; also we can
play the games and watch the photos, videos on TV screen which are stored in the
computer.
For connecting a computer to the TV, we should make a compatible connection.
Before connecting computer, it is recommended to install the latest drivers of the
graphics cards in our computer.
Generally,
computer may be connected to the TV using the video cards like S-Video, component,
composite etc.

Analog TV
For analog
TVs, we have only the option of S-Video input. We can connect the S-Video output
of the computer to S-Video input of TV using an S-Video cable.
But if the computer
has only the VGA output without the S-Video output, then we can use the VGA to S-Video
adaptor for connecting to S-Video input of TV. But the S-Video provides the lowest
video quality among all.
Examples of S-Video:
Diamond Stealth ATI Radeon HD 2400PRO, PCIe DVI, VGA, S-Video, 512 MB costs about
$100, Jaton 3D GeForce FX 5200 AGP Video card, VGA, Composite/S-Video, 128 MB costs
around $50 to $70.
Digital TV
For digital
TVs, there may be S-Video, VGA, component video, or DVI input. We can connect the
VGA output of our computer directly to the VGA input of TV using VGA cable. We can
also use a DVI video card (like ASUS EN6200LE TC256/TD PCIe Video Card, VGA/DVI/Composite
GF 6200LE, 64 MB) to connect directly to the digital HD input of our TV.
RCA Audio
The video
outputs send only video signal but not audio so we can either use speakers for the
computers or use a 3.5mm RCA audio like Ziplinqs Retractable 3.5mm audio cable on
the TV.
If we don’t want to upgrade our video cards the other option is to go for PC to
TV converters. Using this PC to TV converter, we can connect the VGA output of our
computer to any of S-Video, Composite, Component or high definition component of
the TV.
