Hardware for Buying Computers

Continued...

(e)Hardware: Do I need a TV card for my computer?

The fifth step is deciding on hardware. As all of us know the important of all is selecting the processor. The widely used processors are Intel processors and Intel Pentium IV is the current technology used in almost general purpose systems.

The motherboard, monitor, mouse, keyboard, diskette drive, CD-ROM drive, and hard drive form the basic components for a computer.

Some components like printer, scanner, trackball, modem, zip drive, joy stick, tape drive, plotter, sound card, TV card,

video capture card, speakers, surge protector, power supply backup can also be bought along with the basic components depending on our applications.

But before buying these extra components we need to make sure they are compatible with our basic system.

It is always recommended to check computer manufacturers’ websites like Dell as many as possible for the available system configurations, prices and also the reviews written by the costumers.

Also it will be helpful to know if they are currently offering any deals. And the final thing to remember is to check with the store whether it offers good technical support and has any authorized repair facility issued by any reputable computer manufacturer.
